Marmalade has worked tirelessly to improve production processes in order to reduce environmental pollutants.   Most resin that is used in jewellery is epoxy resin, containing Bisphenol-A and solvents which release harmful VOCs into the air as the resin hardens.  Marmalade is proud to state that it employs a UV cure acrylic resin ensuring that its jewellery is BPA-free, and does not release any VOCs into the environment during the curing process.

Marmalade jewellery remains entirely hand made in Toronto, Canada.   Even as we grow, designer Kate Singer and her small team continue to craft each piece of jewellery at Marmalade headquarters (located at Woodbine and Danforth).  We are also proud of the fact that we employ a Toronto based casting company for all of our casting needs, and our silver chains are manufactured in Rhode Island.  We also support many etsy suppliers in purchasing fabrics from Japan.

Marmalade is a Toronto based jewellery design company, specializing in jewellery made using sterling silver, textiles, paper and resin.  The fabrics and papers come from Japan, and designer Kate Singer has recently added some of her own fabric designs into the collection.  The fabrics are set in sterling silver, or 18k gold vermeil (sterling silver dipped in 18 karat gold) and then sealed with a layer of clear resin, providing a protective coating ensuring that your jewellery will last for years to come.
