Where is Marmalade Jewellery made?

Who makes it?
The talented Marmalade team made up of Shannon, a talented jeweller and a recent graduate of the George Brown Jewellery program, and designer/creator Kate Singer.
What makes Marmalade jewellery special?
It is the nature of the process that enables Marmalade jewellery to be so unique. Because the jewellery is finished entirely in house, Marmalade is able to customize orders to our customers’ desires. Our product is entirely made to order, so even though we are a relatively small company, we offer over 100 different patterns, and many of our designs are reversible. You can feel assured that your Marmalade piece is wonderfully distinct and was made just for you. Kate meticulously sources all of the fabric, and is constantly on the lookout for new patterns. Recently, Kate has added some of her own fabric designs, which have been silkscreened locally by the talented Yasmine Louis.
Who else is involved in bring Marmalade jewellery to life?
Kate’s brother Alex, is the web designer of and partner in www.marmaladedesigns.ca. He is responsible for creating the technology that allows customers to bring their creations to life on the screen. Kate’s husband Dave also plays a large role in the company. He is the builder, the lifter, the
r + d guru, and sometimes even the sander and polisher when things get really busy!
Will my necklace look exactly like it does on the website?
Your necklace will be made up of the fabrics or papers that you’ve chosen. If you choose an animal or bug, it will look much the same as online, but don’t forget computer screens are all a little different, so there may be variation in colour. If you choose a floral design there will be some variation in where the image is cropped. Rest assured the cropping is done by the designer with great attention to the beauty of the final product.
Is the jewellery made of sterling silver?
Yes, Marmalade jewellery is made of 100% sterling silver, that has been brushed to give it a soft yet shimmery finish. All of the findings including the chains are made of 100% sterling silver. Each piece of jewellery is stamped with the Marmalade flower and a .925 symbol.
Do the pendants come with chains?
Yes, all Marmalade pendants come strung on a sterling silver chain. You can choose from 16” or 18” and from 4 different styles: snake, tiny ball, fine cable, or cable. Note: the pendants are only shown on one chain style. The chain shown is indicated in the product description.
How do I care for Marmalade jewellery?
Marmalade jewellery is made with brushed sterling silver, which will naturally tarnish over time. Frequent wear slows this process, as does storing your piece in a sealed bag when you are not wearing it. To clean, use a soft toothbrush with some warm water and baking soda. Scrub the frame of the pendant lightly. The gold vermeille will not tarnish or change colour, so no special care or cleaning is required.
How long will it take to process my order?
We guarantee that your order will be shipped 1 week from the day we receive your order. You will receive an email notifying you that your jewellery is in the mail. From that point the timing depends which mailing method you’ve selected.

Do you guarantee your product?
Yes we do! Marmalade pendants are guaranteed for life. Chains are guaranteed for 1 year.
If you are not satisfied with your product due to a defect in manufacturing, please return it to Marmalade for a full refund. If you are in the U.S. please write on the envelope “Merchandise for Return” so that we do not have to pay taxes or duties. We will either replace your necklace, or refund your money...your choice.
Due to the custom nature of the work Marmalade does not accept returns on jewellery for any reason other than a manufacturer’s defect. Thanks for understanding!
Do you have any other fabrics or papers, that aren’t pictured on the site?
Yes. Some patterns we only receive in small quantities so don’t make it onto the website. Please ask if there is a specific animal or pattern you are after. We just may have it lurking in our stash! Send an email to info@marmaladedesigns.ca, and if we have what you’re looking for we will process a custom order for you.
How will my Marmalade jewellery be packaged?
Your Marmalade Jewellery will arrive in a Kraft paper box with a Marmalade sticker on top. A card featuring care instructions and a bio will be included in the box with the jewellery.
